- Walk along the famous sea wall path running right alongside Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s iconic coastal railway line line from Teignmouth to Dawlish.
Historical Plaque Hunting:
- Spot blue history plaques hidden on buildings around the Arts Quarter celebrating famous past residents like the romantic poet John Keats.
🌿 Coastal & Local Nature Trails
South West Coast Path:
- Teignmouth sits directly on this epic national trail. Follow the path east towards Dawlish Warren, or cross the river to tackle the rugged cliffs heading south towards Torquay.
Coombe Valley Local Nature Reserve:
- Escape the beach crowds at this beautiful green valley hidden on the edge of town (TQ14 9HA). Enjoy a quiet woodland walk alongside a flowing stream.
Shaldon Wildlife Circular:
- Take the historic foot ferry across the river to Shaldon. Walk up the steep cliffs to enjoy breathtaking estuary views and pass through Smugglers Tunnel.
